Monday kicked off the 2011 Blog Circus (brain child of the fantabulous Sarah Enni ).Today’s list: Top 5 Most Anticipated Books of 2012 (and be sure to check out lists from Sarah Enni Caroline Richmond Corrine Jackson Erin Bowman Kaitlin Ward Kate Hart Kirsten Hubbard Kristin Halbrook Kristin Otts Lee Bross Lindsey Roth Culli Phoebe North Stephanie Keuhn Sumayyah Doud Veronica Roth ).
And I don't think I can do a top five--not with being an Apocalypsie and knowing how many FANTASTIC books are coming out in 2012. I can, however, tell you about two books I am eagerly anticipating for somewhat personal reasons.

You may have noticed that I talk about Incarnate. A lot. Part of the reason is that I am blessed to call Jodi a friend and am incredibly excited for her. That is not, however, the entire reason.
When I first read Incarnate, I was overcome by the sense that I was reading something new and incredible--a world I had never quite seen before. In my Goodreads review, I compared the world building to JRR Tolkien and Philip Pullman--comparisons I do not make lightly.
I WANT Incarnate to succeed beyond all wild expectations because part of me NEEDS to believe that a book this wonderful can be a runaway success and take YA by storm.

The other book I'm desperately looking forward to is This is not a Test by Courtney Summers. Again, this is a case where I think the author of said book is incredibly swell, but it goes beyond that.
Courtney's writing is off the charts incredible. I've never sat down with one of her books and not finished it in the span of a few hours. And this book has ZOMBIES. What's more, Courtney knows more about horror movies than can possibly be healthy and has written some of the most complex, engaging characters in YA contemp. Both of these factors lead me to think this book is going to kick major butt and transcend genre in a major way.
I can't wait for Incarnate. A sounds like such a unique story. And who doesn't have good things to say about Courtney Summers.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Hemlock as well :-)
It is very, very unique. And I just adore Courtney. She's always incredibly patient with my crazy newbie questions.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you! I keep seeing you comment on WoW posts and it's so appreciated! :)
How did I forget about THIS IS NOT A TEST?? I wanted to read it because, duh, Courtney Summers, but then that cover...! Amazing.
